The O'Brien School for the Maasai is hiring 3 long-term volunteers to begin in summer 2018!  Benefits include free room & board at the school as well as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build administrative skills and valuable experience working cross-culturally. A Tanzanian Work Permit will be obtained for you to ensure eligibility for you to work in the country.

The school director is the adminstrative lead, directly supervising staff, students, and volunteers.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Management experience, especially in an educational setting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently implement projects

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the education field or working with children

The Office Manager is the assistant leader of the school and manages finances.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Math and finance skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Financial and project management experience

Director of special projects

"MKURUGENZI WA kitengo maalum"

The director of special projects is responsible for planning and implementing women’s entrepreneurial projects and students' clubs, and activities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to network with others

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently implement and supervise extra-curricular projects

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience engaging women and children in activities
