A Letter from the Board of Directors Regarding our 2021 Garden Party

We hope this message finds you well. In response to COVID-19 and in an effort to keep our attendees safe, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Garden Party this year.

The pandemic has made it difficult for our suppliers to provide items for the event because they have a shortage of staff and drivers. Additionally, we believe it is in the best interest of our attendees to cancel the party in light of the ongoing surge in COVID-19 cases. We are very saddened to have to do this, but we feel it is the best thing to do in order to keep everyone safe.

We’re incredibly grateful for all of you. Our donors make it possible for us to bring an empowered future to the Maasai. Simply put: we can’t do what we do without you. We so value your support in these challenging times, and we hope you continue to recognize how all our efforts are truly changing the future of this village. Anyone who would like to have their donations for tickets returned are welcome to contact us for a refund.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during these hard times. Despite your own worries and challenges, just by reading and supporting us, you are able to recognize that we are all in this together. In Swahili, we say “pamoja tunaweza,” for “together, we can.” Truthfully, we need your support now more than ever. If you are willing and able to help OBSM during this critical time please visit this link to donate. We have a responsibility to help our community feel safe and confident that our students and staff will continue to receive the financial and academic support they need. This will only be possible with assistance from financial supporters like you.

Thank you for your donations, networks, prayers, and love. We so greatly appreciate it.

Be well. Afya njema.
